Other periods to consider...
Most Western holidays are also celebrated in Thailand due to the large number of tourists, so expect Easter etc. to be busy.
The resorts in the lower price range will also typically be fully booked in January through April and again in July and August - especially around fullmoon time (when a large influx and off fullmoon party goers will arrive in the days following the fullmoon party).
Weather Considerations
Typically the weather is good all year with a rainy spell during November and the first two weeks of december. February through April is hot and humid but it cools down from May and onwards. Especially July through September enjoys a lovely cool breeze from the west.
